At least 20 suspected terrorists killed in attack on suspected militant hideouts in the Zoi Saidgai area.

A U.S. drone strike hit a suspected militant compound in North Waziristan on Wednesday, killing at least 20 people, officials said.

The attack targeted a region that is currently part of a military operation aimed at wiping out insurgent bases in Pakistan’s tribal areas.

“A U.S. drone fired four missiles targeting a militant compound in Zoi Saidgai area, killing at least 20 insurgents,” said a senior security official in Miranshah.

The official said there had been reports of militants moving to Zoi Saidgai from Miranshah and Mir Ali, the other main town in the area, after the start of the Army operation. A local tribesman confirmed the figures, and added that at least half the deceased had been Uzbeks. He said the attack took place around 2:00 a.m. while an important meeting was going on in the compound.
