Pakistani Taliban have issued pamphlet in Khyber Agency, warning all government employees to quit their jobs or risk retaliation.
The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has warned government employees in Khyber Agency to quit their jobs or risk terror attacks, according to a pamphlet distributed in the tribal area.
“The pamphlet distributed by the TTP has warned all the civilian and paramilitary personnel to quit their jobs immediately or face serious consequences,” said Sher Alam Afridi, a tribesmen from Khyber Agency. “They [TTP] distributed the pamphlets in the Bakarabad area,” he added.
According to the pamphlet, the TTP claims it is the “responsibility” of every tribesman to join its cause and stand up against the Pakistan Army. “The military is waging war on mujahideen to please the U.S. government and it is the responsibility of every tribesman to stand with us and quit their jobs,” Afridi quoted from the pamphlet.
The Pakistani Taliban had earlier warned the government that it would retaliate against the military operation in North Waziristan by “burning your palaces” in Lahore and Islamabad. It has also threatened suicide attacks and retaliatory strikes on security forces if the operation continues.
