Faustin Elmer Chaudhry
Photojournalist renowned for his Jinnah shoots. He was 104.

Reshma
Legendary folk singer. She was 66.

Tanvir Ahmed Khan
Pakistan’s former foreign secretary and ambassador died at 81.

Abdul Haq
Chief of Peshawar’s bomb-disposal squad. He was 43.

Sardar Israrullah Khan
Legislator from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa was killed in a suicide bombing. He was 38.

Zahra Shahid Hussain
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf official was killed in Karachi. She was 69.

Nasiruddin Haqqani
Chief financial officer of the Haqqani network was killed near Islamabad. He was 36.

Dr. Syed Ali Haider
50-year-old ophthalmologist and 12-year-old son were gunned down in Lahore for being Shia.

Shams-ur-Rehman Muawiya
Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat chief was killed in Lahore.

Amir Haider Kazmi
PPP leader and former federal minister.

Mirza Mohammad “Isky” Ispahani
Businessman and philanthropist. He was 83.

Khalid Hassan
Former Test cricketer. He was 76.

Munir Hussain
Cricket commentator and journalist. He was 83.

Hassan Tariq Rahim
Claimed by cancer, the barrister and son of Punjab’s former governor was 46.

Bilal Shaikh
Chief security officer of former president Asif Ali Zardari killed in Karachi.

Chaudhry Zulfiqar Ali
State prosecutor for the Federal Investigation Agency killed in Islamabad.

Khawaja Ahmad Samdani
Well-regarded liberal and intellectual former judge died at 81.

Sarabjit Singh
Indian imprisoned in Lahore jail was killed by an inmate. He was 49.

Rana Sanaullah Haq
Pakistani killed in an Indian jail after Sarabjit Singh’s death. He was 52.

Afzal Guru
Indian Kashmiri was executed for his involvement in the 2001 attack on Indian Parliament. He was 43.

Quraish Pur
Host of quiz shows on PTV died at age 81.

Siraj-ul-Haq Memon
Novelist and editor of the Oxford English-to-Sindhi dictionary died at 79.

Abbas Sharif
Brother of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and former M.P. He was 58.

Irfan Ali
Hazara rights activist died at 33 rescuing victims of a bomb blast in Quetta.

Zubaida Khanum
Singer. She was 78.

Harchand Rai
Social worker who devoted his life to Sindh’s poor. He was 97.

Simon D’Lima
Math teacher with several illustrious students: Musharraf, Junejo, Shaukat Aziz. He was 89.

Sadiq Zaman Khattak
Awami National Party member and son were killed in pre-election violence in Karachi.

Bishop Anthony Theodore Lobo
Former chairman of the Education Commission of Pakistan. He was 75.

Jam Mir Mohammad Yousaf
Former chief minister of Balochistan. He was 58.

Daud Rahbar
Writer, musician, teacher. He was 86.

University of Gujrat director killed for being Shia. He was 61.

Abdul Quader Molla
Bangladesh’s Jamaat-e-Islami leader executed for his crimes during the 1971 war. He was 65.

Oscar-nominated actor. He was 81.

Doris Lessing
Author and Nobel laureate. She died at 94.

Paul Walker
Hollywood actor killed in car crash at age 40.

David Frost
Television journalist. He was 74.

Lou Reed
Punk rock pioneer. He was 71.

Sushmita Banerjee
Indian author killed by the Afghan Taliban. She was 49.

James Gandolfini
The Sopranos’ star. He was 51.

Tom Clancy
Best-selling author. He was 66.

Cory Monteith
